Streaming devices are used to convert a camera’s video signal so that it is read by a computer as a conventional webcam. This allows the benefits of an advanced camera system, such as colour and exposure control, with the plug and play convenience of a webcam, and can be used to connect to software such as Zoom.us for drastically better video.
Video Converters
A video convertor changes the video signal of a camera from one type of output to another, allowing previously incompatible devices to be used together. There is sometimes a trade off to this, with the attributes of the signal (such as resolution or frame rate) being limited by the hardware of the converter.
